ANSTI regularly produces several categories of publications which
are circulated among its member institutions. (a)
The African Journal of Science and Technology
This is the most important publication of ANSTI. The journal has
a very favourable reputation among African scientists as can be
judged from the influx of articles both from within and without
the region. The journal is currently published in two series. Series
A covers technology, series B covers science. Each series has two
issues per year.
(b) Textbooks
In order to help alleviate the problem of textbook shortage and
at the same time build the capacity in textbook writing, ANSTI
embarked on a textbook writing programme. To-date five textbooks
in engineering have been produced, and there are currently seven
more in basic and Engineering science which are being processed
for publication.
(c) Directories
Since its inception ANSTI has compiled two issues of the directory
which catalogues descriptions, including staff list, of all member
institutions. The Directory of Women Engineers, Science and Technology
Institutions in Africa and Post Graduate Training Programmes in
Africa are currently been developed.
(d) Training Manuals
In order to facilitate the training of technicians, ANSTI has
produced a manual for Repair and Maintenance of Scientific and
Technical Equipment. This manual which is available in both French
and English is in great demand from institutions all over the
world.
