Dear friends of DAAD,
I'm glad to say that with the beginning of this month I became the new director of the DAAD Regional Office Nairobi after many years of working at the DAAD Headquarter in Bonn. I'm looking forward to a good and successful cooperation and to gain new African perspectives.
In this edition, we would like to introduce to you the International Journalism Training Program of the Deutsche Welle Akademie. In addition, we would like to share the announcement of the DIES- International Dean's course Africa 2015/2016. This DIES intensive training course will prepare future deans and vice-deans of becoming leaders in higher education positions.

The Traineeship with Deutsche Welle Akademie is open for applications! Starting in May 2015, the rigorous traineeship will take 18 months.
Minimum requirements are a university degree or a journalistic vocational training and very good knowledge of English.
The application deadline is October 31st, 2014
DIES - International Dean's Course Africa 2015/2016
The program targets newly elected or future deans and vice-deans aged between 40 and 50 years from universities of selected African Countries. The training course starting in June 2015 is divided into three parts which will take place in Germany (Osnabruck and Berlin), Ghana or Kenya and Ethiopia.
Issues to be addressed are faculty management, financial management, quality assurance and leadership.
