   FELLOWSHIPS

Post Graduate Fellowship

Each year a limited number of postgraduate fellowships with the support of DAAD of Germany are available for the staff members of ANSTI member institutions. To promote the aims of ANSTI in enhancing cooperation and networking between ANSTI member institutions, the fellowships are tenable only in ANSTI institutions outside applicant's home country.

To qualify for fellowship, the applicant must be below 36 years of age and possess a good bachelors degree (at least 2nd class upper division).
The next deadline for applications will be 31st May 2006.

Staff Exchange Fellowship
Each year, ANSTI awards several fellowships to academic staff of member institutions who wish to undertake teaching and/or research in another African University. The objective of the fellowship is to mutually stregthen the human resources of the Network members by pooling together their staff for training and research purposes.
 
ANSTI does not take responsibility for the identification of host institutions for the applicant.
 
Benefits of the Award
 
There are 2 categories of staff exchange fellowships.
 
1. Research staff exchange fellowship
The grantee will undertake research. The host institution must offer office space, free use of laboratory and other reseach facilities. ANSTI award will cover the cost of return air ticket and stipend to cover living expenses.
 
2.  Teaching staff exchange fellowship
The grantee will undertake teaching at ANSTI member institution. The host institution must offer accommodation and/or allowances. The ANSTI grant  will cover return air ticket and an honorarium.
 
Conditions of the Award
Eligible candidate must fulfill the following conditions.
 
1. Applicant must have a letter of invitation from the African institution he/she intends to visit.
 
2. For research visit, the host institution must offer space, free use of laboratory and other research facilities.
 
or
 
3. For teaching visit, the host must offer accommodation and/or allowances.
 
Method of Application
Interested candidates must address an application letter accompanied by an invitation letter and CV to the following address. The application letter has to indicate that conditions (1, 2 and 3) have been fulfilled.
